Meet Jan Connell, a local MINIac
At Schomp MINI, we love interacting with other MINIacs at Motor-Tober, at the Schomp MINI location in Littleton (soon-to-be Highlands Ranch), and on the road. See your fan letters, hearing about how much your love your MINI, and simply shaking your hand is an honor for us.
During a #MINIinDenver contest a couple months ago, we met another MINIac who ended up winning the contest. She met our social media team in front of Denver’s Union Station to claim her prize. When she showed up in a MINI, we couldn’t help but ask her a few questions about her ride, and snap this awesome photo of her and her MINI!
Schomp MINI spoke with Jan Connell about her love for MINI:
What is the model and year of your MINI?
Jan Connell: It’s a 2014 Countryman.
Does your MINI have a name?
JC: Ziggy…because at first I couldn’t decide if it was a boy or a girl. It’s a boy!
How long have you owned your MINI?
JC: I bought Ziggy in May of this year.
Is this your first MINI?
JC: This is my 3rd MINI. I owned two right-hand drivers back in England. My first was a 1974 Mini Clubman. His name was Vroom. He had so many rust holes, I’d have to pull the plug in the footwells to drain that lovely English rain water. It was my first ever car. My next was a 1984 Silver Anniversary edition named Vincent. It was 20 years before I got another.
What is your favorite thing about your MINI?
JC: I love the sport button! I also love my personalized plates, “GR8BR1T” and his black jack enhancements.
What is the most interesting aspect about owning a MINI?
JC: I love that the majority of MINI owners personalize their car in some way – so many choices! Oh, and bring on that downtown parallel parking. Easy, peasy!
Thanks, Jan!
